Exercise Tip: Do only what brings you joy! Don’t force yourself into exercise choices that don’t make you happy. Just move your body everyday in a way that feels good for you!
Meal/Food Tip: Eat seasonal foods, as local as possible. Sign up for a local CSA/Farm Share. It is like a big surprise present every week! It is just as easy to hit one of the many local farm stands or farmers markets as it is to head to your big chain grocery store. Avoid diet fads and just eat whole, clean foods!
Must Have Daily Snack: I don’t have a daily snack that I go to but I must have a mug of hot tea to start every day I am huge fan of rose tea. Smells so good and tastes just as yummy. And there always has to be Peanut Butter and some dark chocolate in the house!!!!
Best Healthy Lifestyle Advice Received: Stop weighing yourself. Your health is not dictated by how much you weigh. This was hard advice to wrap my brain around 2 decades ago but it is the best healthy living advice I have ever gotten. When I stopped my obsession with the scale, is actually when I got truly healthy. Focusing on eating a plant based diet, moving in ways that I really liked instead of punishing workouts, and connecting with people whole heartedly, allowed me to see that long lasting good health is so much more than a number on the scale. Optimum health and wellness is when we nourish our mind & spirit as well as our body.
Biggest Health Accomplishment: Becoming a Pilates & Yoga teacher! It keeps me healthy, feeling young, and I love sharing my passion for radical self-love with as many people as I can.
