DIY Thai Hair Tonic
Coconut oil and flower essential oils are key ingredients in regular hair care in many cultures. This recipe was part of the weekly hair regimen recommended by the herbalist I studied with in Thailand. It can easily be adapted for any hair type.
1/2 cup Coconut Oil
4 Tbsp Aloe Vera Gelly by Lilly of the Desert
6 drops Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil (for normal to oily hair)
8 drops Jasmine Precious Essential Oil (for dry hair)
Combine the Coconut Oil and Aloe Vera Gelly and mix thoroughly. Add the essential oil appropriate for your hair and blend.
Apply the mixture to your hair and massage. Wrap a warm towel around your head for better absorption. Leave on for about 10 minutes before shampooing and conditioning your hair.
