Runa Guayusa & Amazon's Kichwa people
The Amazon's Kichwa people have made an invigorating tea from the guayusa leaf for generations, and drinking it is an important part of their culture. Now the Kichwa are working with U.S. tea companies to turn guayusa farming into a profitable industry and a sustainable alternative to logging and fossil fuel extraction. The blossoming trade is attracting supporters, including actor Channing Tatum.
Runa, meaning "Fully Alive," made from guayusa tea, supports Amazonian communities. Last year actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, announced his investment in Runa. Moreover, he donated his shares to the farmers.
Drink Runa and support the Amazon and its people. Iced Teas available for a limited time at The Healthy Grocer. Shop for Runa tea bags in-store or on our online store.
